Anouk's 2nd birthday

Delia, our nanny, organized a party for Anouk's birthday in the park with Anouk's little friends and their nannies/moms. Here are some pictures from the fun:

Tahoe snowshoeing

We went snowshoeing in Lake Tahoe a few weeks back. We went on a short 2 hour trip on Friday with Reba close to Sugar Bowl:

The sled seemed great, but we sank in after 10 feet so had to resort to our backpack.

My favorite picture, mini footprints

On our way back with Reba.

The next day, we went to Sugar Pine Point with the whole group and snowshoed to the Lake. It was a gorgeous day, sunshine and blue skies. For Ed and Adriana, and Patti and Fa, it was their first snowshoe outing. It will be hard to beat:

Arriving at Lake Tahoe, extremely beautiful scenery

After tons of pictures and a nice lunch break, we moved on along the trail.

Fa and Anouk are enjoying the end of the trip. Thanks to Fa and Patti for sharing some of the pictures.

Anouk and Miles Dancing

Anouk and Miles are moving ahead with their romance, and decided to ask each other out for a dance....

Not sure if I still think it is funny when she is 15.....

Wild Animal Park

We had an extra day to spare in San Diego since it was too cold to go camping in Joshua Tree, so we checked out the Gaslamp District and Coronado. Some great views along the way, and the Hotel del Coronado was very nice:

Sipping a drink like an adult

Love the maple leaf

Nice downtown view

Sand on the feet, such a great feeling

I love this beach

The next day, we went to the Wild Animal Park, which is operated by the San Diego Zoo. 900 acres of wild animal exhibit, with the "dangerous" ones behind a fence, and a gigantic section of African steppe, where the animals can roam free. It is amazing, and feels like you're really in Africa. We also watched the elephant feeding and walked all the trails to see the exhibits. Anouk loved it and was pointing at all the animals.

Sleepy.....
We took a ride with a train to get access to the other half of the park

We walked around some more and went to some enclosed exhibits

Flamingos

Since it was Thanksgiving, it would be hard to find a place for dinner, so we headed to Old Town San Diego, and had excellent burritos and margaritas at one of the great Mexican restaurants.

It was a great trip, even the there was a lot of driving involved.
